Class Descriptions

Power Yoga - Baptiste Power *Vinyasa Yoga is a dynamic, energizing form of exercise that sculpts, hones and tones every muscle in the body. It works because it is simple and right in line with how your body is designed to move and operate. It empowers you to purposely use and train your body the way you do in real life (bending, stretching, lifting, reaching, twisting) so you can move through your everyday motions with more agility, ease, power and grace.

Power Yoga contains up to 50 asanas (poses) that are linked together by a connective momentum. You will be exposed to the five foundational pillars of Power Yoga: breath, heat, flow, gaze and the abdominal lock.

*Vinyasa – “flow” or the linking of breathe from one movement into the next.

Power Yoga Tone - Additional exercises with light hand weights and fitness balls are combined with the existing vinyasa flow. This will allow for more core strength and upper body sculpting including the arms, shoulders and back! We will also be introducing and practicing arm balances and inversions. Come ready to play!

Basic Yoga Flow - This class is highly recommended for students that are brand new to yoga, especially Hot Power Yoga. We will cover heat acclamation, proper alignment and the poses included in sun salutations and a vinyasa flow.  You will leave this class feeling confident to attend all the other classes we offer. Even if you have been practicing for a while, sometimes it is good to re-visit the basics.

Why So Hot?!

The Studio will be heated between 85-95 degrees. At first you may not like the heat and feel uncomfortable. But after a while, the power of the purification process will have you coming back for more. The heat produces more sweat and sweat is one of the most important mechanisms of natural healing. Sweat enables the body to release toxins, metabolic debris and excess fluids.

The heat will also help you to build and maintain fluidity to your movements as your muscles soften. It helps to avoid injury and allows for deeper stretching and flexibility.
